Cycling
Boise offers many different cycling groups with a variety of experience levels and meeting times. All you have to do is find the one that is best for you. If you know a group that is missing, contact us and we’ll make sure they’re listed.
Boise Cyclists - A meetup for cyclists of all ages and abilities to get together and ride. While there are some great local cycling clubs, most revolve competitive group rides and racing. This group is meant for people who just ride for fun and like to meet other people. Various meeting times, so please visit website for more information.
Boise Young Rider Development Squad (BYRDS) - a Treasure Valley bicycling program designed to introduce youth (ages 6 to 18) to the sport of cycling. The goal of this program is to provide interested junior boys and girls the training, and the understanding of equipment, rules, safety and the benefits of cycling as a lifelong sport. Community Bike Rides (CBR) – Free rides to prepare you for local charity centuries, metric centuries and touring events, such as the Cycle for Independence, Bob LeBow, Blue Cruise & Bike MS Ride. We also get you ready for out of town events such as Chico Wildflower, Little Red Riding Hood, Sierra to the Sea, and Ride Idaho. Check calendar for specific dates. Lactic Acid Cycling - Whether you live in the area or are just visiting Boise and looking for a group to ride with, we’d love to have you join us on any of our rides! Length of rides vary. Thursday night rides are social rides, usually 20-25 miles at a moderate (18 mph) speed, followed by dinner and drinks at a local watering hole. Saturday mornings we typically all start together and then break into two groups about 20 miles into the ride. The “long” group pedals 65 to 100 miles, and the “short” group typically rides 40 to 65 miles. Check website for specific ride start times and locations.
Lost River Cycling - One of the largest cycling clubs in Idaho, Lost River’s organized group rides regularly see groups of 15 to 35 riders with a wide range of ability. Membership and event information available on the group’s website.
Team Dobbiaco - Founded in 2002, Team Dobbiaco (pronounced: doh-bee-auk-ooh) is an inclusive organization that promotes all aspects of cycling and multisport. Through our members, we strive to help athletes become life-long advocates of the sport and project a positive image that will help promote the growth, well-being, and further develop the cycling and multisport communities. Team Dobbiaco will promote our sponsors and achieve the Team and individual goals/objectives in the spirit of sportsmanship, camaraderie and the pursuit of excellence.
